Named after “KC” or “Kelp Creature”, a large male humpback that makes his home off the east coast of Vancouver Island. Given this name after he was observed as a calf in the thick of our coastal kelp beds while his mother was off hunting for food, he can be recognized by his split fin, the result of a propeller strike. We love these beautiful coastal residents, and $1 from the sale of every “Kelp Creature” is donated to MERS (Marine Education and Research Society).
